About our watches

You often pick up a watch and immediately recognise the brand it comes from. There are characteristic elements, colours or designs that automatically make us think of a manufacturer.

Junkers is a strong brand that has stood for the highest technical standards and quality for many years. Through our history, we have specialised in aviator and Bauhaus watches, which is why typical elements and complications of these two styles are firmly anchored in our designs.

In addition, we follow some basic principles that characterise each of our models. On this page, we would like to introduce you to the special features that give our watches their unmistakable Junkers DNA and make them far more than mere timepieces.

Every automatic movement is a small technical masterpiece

In order to bring the precision and craftsmanship of an automatic watch to life, every automatic watch from Junkers is fitted with a glass back that provides a fascinating insight into the mechanical inner workings of the watch. This allows you to admire the fine movements and harmonious interplay of all the gears and components that together form the heart of your watch.

Our logo at the 12 o'clock position

Why do pilot's watches have a triangle at the 12 o'clock position, often flanked by two dots? The answer is pragmatic: this symbol is used for quick and easy orientation. The triangle allows pilots to see the 12 o'clock position at a glance - a decisive advantage in stressful situations or during risky manoeuvres. The distinctive shape is also clearly visible in the dark, which is very important in poorly lit cockpits. We are continuing this tradition with our pilot's watches and giving them a personal touch at the same time. The 12 o'clock position on our models features the characteristic Junkers logo: the triangle with the flying man. It not only fulfils the traditional function, but also tells a piece of our brand history.

Corrugated metal design - from aeroplane to dial

Hugo Junkers revolutionised aviation with the construction of the first all-metal aircraft, setting a new standard in the world of aviation. For this purpose, he developed a special corrugated sheet metal, which today accounts forthe historic charm of the old Junkers aeroplanes such as the Aunt JU or the Junkers F13.

We wanted to utilise this corrugated sheet metal and its unique appearance for our watches and thus transfer the charm of the Junkers aircraft to our watches. For this reason, we have designed special dials that pick up on this distinctive pattern. As a result, the historic Junkers corrugated sheet metal design not only remains a trademark of our aircraft, but also characterises the aesthetics of our pilot's watches to this day.

More than just the name - applications and stamps

Our pilot's watches not only bear the Junkers name, but also reflect the connection to the historic Junkers aeroplanes through their design. Their dials feature appliqués and stamps reminiscent of iconic models such as the Junkers JU 52, A60 and W33. These details link the history of the Junkers brand with a sense of freedom and adventure - values that are alive in both our aeroplanes and our watches. This makes each watch a unique piece of history.

Made in Germany

We are very proud of the fact that every Junkers watch is designed and manufactured in Germany. For this reason, every watch bears the words "Made in Germany" on the dial. Would you like to find out more about the production of our watches and the meaning of "Made in Germany"?
